Backbends are a foundational movement in yoga. But many might find it difficult to pull them off. The kink might be tightness in the hip flexors that need to be worked out vs tightness or lack of mobility in the back.
This variation of King Pigeon is a hip opener and balance move. It kinda kicked my butt as I attempted to pull it off. But it is a great stretch for the hips.
If you have difficulty with your backbends, stretch those hips for a while. Then try again.
