What You Do Today, Will Be Seen Next Year
Last year, I set the goal to run a 10 min mile. This was back when I was running 12 min miles and 25 lbs heavier than I am now. I told myself 10 was the goal.

I was running about 4-5 days a week last year up until the weather changed. THEN my game planned switched to strengthening my glutes, hamstrings, and quads.

When I started back running this past spring, I was running my miles between 11-12 min. I decided to stop running for long sessions and focus on getting 1 mile down to 10. Then 2 miles down to 20. Then 3 miles down to 30. When I focused like this vs so many longer (45-60 min) runs, I was able to get faster.

These days, even without pushing that hard, I can run close to 10 min miles. When I’m fully rested, I am at my goal speed. I haven’t decided on my goal for next year. We shall see though!!
