As we approach the new year, I am reflecting on the whirlwind of 2011. I set goals and smashed them and gained so much knowledge in health and wellness in doing so. I competed in my first figure competition last May and it seems like so long ago, even though it was just a few months back. And back then I was eating so much chicken and fish, that I was probably personally responsible for killing my own small chicken farm and fishery. Back then (all those months ago), I was still under the impression that you had to eat pounds of meat to build and maintain strong muscles. Man have things changed! I now eat NO animal products…kinda crazy how quickly how that happened. But I really think that all that meat early in the year was just too much, now I may be completely rebelling against all things meat…who knows? Anyways, I quit eating chicken in July, seafood and dairy in October, and I haven’t eaten beef or pork in a few years. Now while I haven’t slipped with meat products, I have slipped a couple times with cheese and chocolate (has milk.) But for the most part, I have been consistent.
Now I am approaching my second figure competition, and I am doing it completely as a vegan. I think that my 2011 journey has lead directly to this point. I want to prove that you can be healthy and strong and have a plant based diet. Follow me and my tranformation as I approach this event. The date is March 31st!
