So my boyfriend and I decided to go meat and animal product free for at least a month and see how our bodies respond. We have been flirting with being vegetarians since July, but we left seafood in and were eating cheese and ice cream every now and then. Now we are going all in.
I am visiting my family in California for a week and a half and plan on cooking and experimenting with different recipes while I am here. Yesterday was a LONG travel day for me…I mean like a 12 hour day. And when you travel, the food choices are not the best, and food can be expensive. But I made due. I took snacks on the plane to hold me over, grabbed a couple of bean burritos while on the road, then I hit the grocery store to stock my dad’s house with veggie eater friendly food. So I was successful even on my travel day.
It might get tricky during the week. I will be visiting friends, eating out, plus my birthday is this weekend and we are having a birthday dinner. We shall see. Most people gain a bunch of weight over vacation. I am planning on being extra healthy on vacation and on my birthday…let’s see how this works out. So far, so good. We will see how it goes for the duration…
To-Do list:
Make a tasty dessert
Make 2 new main dishes
Make 1 entrée’ that can be shared for special occasions and dinner parties
I shall report back on the success of my meals and see how my family responds to them. They don’t realize it yet, but they are my test subjects…hehehehe.
