My very first figure competition is fast approaching. I have about 8 weeks to get my body into tip-top shape, because the swimsuit that I have to wear is NOT forgiving at all. My life right now consists of: eating, working out, training, cooking, and sleeping, (not necessarily in that order.) Right now I am doing 5 weight training sessions and at least 4 (sometimes more) cardio sessions and I’m eating 6 meals a day. (If I’m not eating, I’m cooking, or grocery shopping!) This is the life of a competitor. Now I don’t know how many competitions I will actually do, but I have definitely emersed myself in this one feet first.
Though I am drained half of the time, I would not trade this lifestyle back for a regular job…nosiree! So far I am down 8 pounds of fat and 12 inches. And I have reduced my body fat percentage from 24.8% to 19% (calculations taken by a non-professional, so may not be ridiculously accurate. I am still happy with the progress no less.)
I am super-duper loving this journey. And more importantly, all that I am learning will make me a better personal trainer. As I am shaping my body with diet and exercise, I am learning how I can help my clients and potential clients.
Now you’re into extreme goal-setting. Giving yourself a PUBLIC date that you’ve announced to people so that they will expect you to keep your goal. Very good. And I have no doubt you’ll do it.
Declaring a goal out loud makes me hold myself accountable.
